Soon to become one of the most controversial events in modern sports, the fight was stopped at the end of the third round, with Tyson disqualified for biting Holyfield on both ears. The first time Tyson bit him, the match was temporarily stopped. Referee Mills Lane deducted two points from Tyson and the fight resumed. However, after the match resumed, Tyson bit him again, resulting in his disqualification, and Holyfield won the match. The first bite was severe enough to remove a piece of Holyfield’s right ear, which was found on the ring floor after the fight. Tyson later stated that his actions were retaliation for Holyfield repeatedly headbutting him without penalty. In the confusion that followed the ending of the bout and announcement of the decision, a near riot occurred in the arena and several people were injured. Tyson Holyfield II was the first light heavyweight boxing weight division title fight in over 50 years to end in a disqualification.

Tyson’s childhood was undoubtedly scarring, even as the series keeps the most brutal realities of the boxer’s early life at bay. His violent Brooklyn upbringing, systemic poverty, no father to speak of, the rejection of his mother and his juvenile life of crime are depicted in “Mike,” but not to the extent of what came out in a revealing 1988 Sports Illustrated profile published a month into Tyson’s volatile public marriage to actress Robin Givens. Reported by Gary Smith, a Hall-of-Fame level sportswriter, the article describes the young Tyson watching as grown men placed a noose around his friend’s neck and threw him off the side of a building. Tyson was about to die just like his friend for the crime of stealing pigeons, the birds he’s always loved as a source of serenity in constant chaos, but was saved by a neighbor’s screams.

Apparently, Mike Tyson has some mixed feelings about his lack of fatalities in the ring. One of the most disturbing Mike Tyson facts is that, in a 2013 interview with The Telegraph, the boxer was asked if he was ever afraid that he’d kill someone during a fight.
“I want to fight all the best fighters of this era,” he said . “I want to fight everyone, starting with guys like (Martin) Bakole or (Joe) Joyce, or Frank Sanchez, and then Joshua, Wilder, Usyk. I want to fight them all, of course.
The advice proved sage. Zhang showed signs of fatigue, as would be the case for a 41-year-old heavyweight who came in at a career heaviest 291 pounds. Parker came forward in round eleven, behind his jab and followed with right hands down the middle. Zhang’s already low punch output dramatically decreased, to the chagrin of his corner who called for a knockout ending to take it out of the judges’ hands.
At the age of 17 she moved to Beijing, where she worked various odd jobs: cashier at a supermarket, kindergarten teacher, security guard and hotel desk clerk. In 2010 she found a job at a local Beijing gym as a fitness instructor, and was allowed to use their equipment for free after the gym closed in the evenings. During that time she would also pick up Brazilian jiu-jitsu, after watching others grappling there. She later switched to a front desk job, through which she got to know fighters who trained at the gym, one of them being her idol Wu Haotian, a pioneer of Chinese MMA. After they became acquainted in 2012, Haotian brought her to Black Tiger Fight Club. There, she was noticed by coach Cai Xuejun, who recognized her potential and started training her in MMA.
