David Slutsker

SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT & HEAD OF THE BOXING DIVISION

David Slutsker is an experienced deal negotiator, career advisor and litigator with over 30 years of experience handling the complex career and legal issues that affect highly successful professional athletes. Mr. Slutsker has represented athletes in the NFL, Professional Basketball and Tennis, the Olympics and in the sport of Boxing. He joins ProPlayer Sports as its Senior Vice-President and the Head of the Boxing Division.

Over the past 30 years Mr. Slutsker has represented the World Champion or number one contender in virtually every weight class in the sport all while negotiating some of the biggest deals in the history of Boxing for his clients. He currently represents reigning two time world champion and current WBO Middleweight Champion Demetrius Andrade, two time Olympic Gold medalist and two time world champion and reigning WBC, WBA and IBF Women’s Middleweight Champion Claressa Shields and former Olympic Bronze medalist and top Super-Middleweight contender Andre Dirrell.

Mr. Slutsker has also represented numerous world champions and top contenders including Razor Ruddock, Olympic Gold medalist and former WBO Heavyweight Champion Ray Mercer, former Cruiserweight Champion Robert Daniels, Light-Heavyweight number one contender Richard Hall, former Middleweight Champion Nigel Benn, former Super Featherweight WBC Champion Jesse James Leija, former Super Bantamweight Champion and IBF Super Lightweight Champion Tracy Patterson as well as former Heavyweight Champion of the World Floyd Patterson.

David Slutsker has litigated numerous complex federal and state court cases including such matters as Demetrius Andrade v. Roc Nation and Jay Z, Don King Productions v. Razor Ruddock, Felix Trinidad v. Don King Productions, Morton v. Ruddock, Whitaker v. Warriors Boxing, Warriors Boxing v. Ray Mercer and Goldenpalace casino, CCKR v. Venus Williams, Serena Williams and Richard.

Mr. Slutsker has represented many collegiate standouts in the NFL including former Miami Hurricane players Jammi German (Atlanta and Cleveland), James Burgess (Kansas City and Oakland), Rohan Marley (son of legendary reggae star Bob Marley), Malcolm Pearson, Frank Costa, Ryan Collins and former University of Florida star Godfrey Myles (Dallas Cowboys).

Mr. Slutsker has had two sports law related trials televised live on CourtTV and has also appeared on that network as a sports law analyst. He has served as a visiting sports law lecturer at the University of Miami School of Law as well as at various events and symposiums sponsored by the Florida Bar and the American Bar Association. He previously headed the sports law division at state-wide law firm Ruden McCloskey and was a partner practicing sports law at Adorno&Yoss and WNF law.

Mr. Slutsker understands that top rate representation means special attention which extends beyond contract negotiations and therefore includes offering a wide variety of services which deal with the athlete’s life and financial security during and after their career.

Some of the services that Mr. Slutsker provides can be described in the following manner:

a) Legal advice and representation with respect to the negotiation of all contracts including management and promotional agreements.

b) Negotiation of endorsement, marketing and licensing deals.

c) Negotiation and review of any and all contracts regarding an athlete’s career and enforcement of rights under various collective bargaining agreements.

d) Civil litigation matters including arbitration and mediation.

Mr. Slutsker is a native of Livingston, New Jersey and is a graduate of Lehigh University and the University of Miami School of Law. He is a member of the Florida and New Jersey Bars.
